Flights to Rome

A few recommendations to help make your journey to Rome as smooth as possible.

Recommended Airport: Rome Fiumicino (FCO)

Rome Ciampino (CIA) is also an option, though Fiumicino is the primary international airport.

From New Orleans & the U.S. there are no direct flights to Rome.

Our preferred route is New Orleans → London → Rome, which typically offers the most reliable connections.

We recommend allowing at least 2–2.5 hours for international connections, as customs and security in Europe can take time. Short layovers can be risky.

For a more relaxed start to the weekend, we suggest arriving in Rome at least one day early.

Getting Around

Transportation

Rome is best experienced on foot, with metro, ubers/taxis and short rides filling in the gaps.

Uber

Available, but limited compared to U.S. cities and typically more expensive than taxis.

Taxis

Easy to find throughout Rome. Use official white taxis or taxi stands; taxis can also be booked via the Uber app. Readily available from the Reception.
